9.2.2026Retro supermarket and eatery in Nový Bor
In the spring of 2025, a customer approached us with a request to design, manufacture, and install new glass display windows for a commercial building in Nový Bor.
At first, it seemed like it would be one of those run-of-the-mill projects, all pretty much the same. But the very first requirement—an emphasis on retro design inspired by the original structures—hinted that this time it would be something special.
The expectations were confirmed. The glass display windows are made of aluminum profiles with a retro design, which faithfully imitate the steel frames with aluminum strips used in the past.
The atypical "menthol" color and shape of the profiles take the entire building back in time—to a period remembered by everyone in the 45+ generation.
The only element that clearly brings us back to the present day are three double-leaf automatic GEZE doors with an escape door function, which meet current technical and safety requirements.
The icing on the cake is the retro buffet located directly in the store. Its offerings and furnishings authentically evoke the atmosphere of the 1980s.
Even the grocery and general store itself—despite being equipped with modern technology and shelves full of contemporary products—resembles, in its external appearance, a time when customers knew the goods by heart and the staff knew their customers by name.
Everything here fits together naturally, creating a functional and visually powerful whole.
